GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION

The municipality of Mayantoc is situated in the western most part of Tarlac Province where it is thirty four (34) kilometers away from the seat of Provincial Government. It is the last municipality bordering the Zambales Province. It is bounded on the north by the Municipalities of Camiling and San Clemente and on the North West by the Province of Pangasinan. On the east are the Municipalities of Camiling and Sta. Ignacia and on the South, fronted by the Municipality of San Jose and on the west by the Province of Zambales. Mayantoc belongs to the First Congressional District of Tarlac.

 

Approximately, the municipality has a total land area of 31,142 hectares. The municipality is ranked 3rd class composing of 24 barangays. With regard to land area, as shown in Table 1, Labney is the largest among the barangays with an area of 17,362 has.. Second is Bigbiga covering an area of 3,994 has., followed by Nambalan with an area of 2,177 has. and fourth is San Jose with an area of 1,852 has.. The four barangays have covered classified forest land.
